T20 first match Sri Lanka wins

Hampantotta: in the first match of the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka beat Zimbabwe by 82 runs.

Spinner Ajantha Mendis took a record 6 wickets for just 8 runs as hosts Sri Lanka humble Zimbabwe in the opening match of the World Twenty20 on Tuesday. Mendis, 27, marked he is international return after an 8-month injury lay-off with the shocking haul to wreck Zimbabwe for 100 in 17.3 overs in the Group C match in Hambantota.
